Let's start with the basic question. Who am I?

My name is Shannon and I'm currently 18 years old. All my life has been spent growing up in the Caribbean, on the island of Nevis to be exact, and as far back as I can trace all my family has lived here too. The Caribbean, yes its been great, and I've for sure had my fill of palm trees and sand to last a lifetime. I dream of travelling some day, to Italy mainly, even though I've never been and don't even know too much about it, that's where I'd like to go.

I not only want to blog, but I'd like to start a YouTube channel as well. And I'd like to do these things because I like fashion and beauty related topics. I have thoughts and opinions that I'd really like to share and blogging and vlogging just seem like such fun and creative ways to do it. Yep, I know that it's going to be a lot o' work . . . a lot. But I'm up for it.

What I'd really like to do above all else is to inspire people, to provoke thought and to entertain you guys and have fun at the same time. I don't want this blog to be a generic place with content that you could find in countless other places. I want to be myself. I want to be original with this blog's content, because no two people are exactly alike, so no two blogs should be exactly alike. Do you pick up what I'm putting down? Sorry . . . I had to say it.

I have a growing interest in photography. To be honest I've always liked well taken pictures, I mean who doesn't really, but until recently I never really realised just how much work went into it or why someone would consider spending so much time to get a good shot. I'm discovering that now, and I really like it. I also really like to draw and recently I'm liking to paint as well. Writing stories, also a plus for me. I don't know, I've just always been interested in art, in one form or another. Artistic soul, this one.

My current goals are to study fashion design, hopefully in Italy, and to learn Italian as well. Also to finish sixth form with great grades and to get a job that I like in between going to sixth form and university. Those are more of my short term goals, the long term ones are not as well defined. Long term goals coming soon.
